Hi all,
There are several features in Archman i like and would explore further, especially the community editions of lesser used DEs. My issue is when i install it as a second OS, it cannot mount the separate /home partition of my primary (Archlabs) OS. I suspect this is a permissions issue, but don't know how to proceed. I find most distros don't have this issue, but a few do. If someone would kindly help me with this problem, I'd love to give Archman a real try.. Thx!

Archman sets up the first created user with UID and GID of 1001, not 1000 like most every other distro. This means that sharing a /home folder with another distro, or importing a /home folder during installation is practically impossible without a lot of tweaking of the UID and GID of the user and the sambashare service.

Thanks so much eznix! I am a subscriber to your youtube channel, saw you fix there, and returned to this thread. I will reinstall Archman JWM and attempt the fix. I think Archman is the only distro with both Arch and JWM (Community Edition 2019-03). Of course i have JWM installed on other Arch-based distros, but would rather use and support one that actually offers this option. If interested in such things, you should have a look at the Archman config for JWM- highly unique!

Excellent. Thank you for the feedback. I never know with aging posts like yours over a month old whether the user has moved on and an answer may no longer be relevant. Glad to have you subscribed. Good luck with the install. 🙂

Rest assured answers are always relevant... and much appreciated! I recently fixed a flashing wifi indicator on my old Latitude (Arch-based) using an Ubuntu fix from 2012.

Your fix works great for me! I can see other partitions for the first time with Archman JWM! You have gone above and beyond helping the community with this one!
